Handpainted Slate Wall HangingsWhen on my walks, I am always on the lookout for pieces of slate that would make a good surface to paint on. The slate is in a variety of sizes and shapes and is coated with clear polyurethane after painting for protection. If you are going to purchase one of these, keep in mind that slate is on the delicate side and care is needed when handling these pieces. Extra protection is given when packing these for shipment. I would not recommend hanging these in the elements as slate is slightly porous. Click on picture for close-up.
